Four men, four doors, four bathtowels – and lots of bawdy music! 

Syracuse’s premier belly dance fusion troupe, Prema Dance Company, presents its first show, Integration, on Friday, June 27, 2008 at Jazz Central.  Doors open at 7 p.m., and the performance is at 8 p.m.  Tickets are $15.

Choreographer Erin Reid calls Integration, “Unique.  You’ve never seen anything like this before in Central New York.”  The seven members of the Prema Donnas are all local artists, performing a style of dance that one would expect to find only in cities with larger, cutting edge, dance communities.  The performance will fuse different dance forms with belly dance. 

The theatrical performance will also feature live music, performed by Emmet Van Slyke.  He will compose and play music between each dance.  Christine Hanna, co-owner of Prema Dance Company, will dance to one of Van Slyke’s compositions.

The Festival showcases a collection of regional and national artists from multiple genres, all with roots steeped in tradition and vision, and arranges them on two stages for a continuous river of music.
